Some of what we are doing at InnovationXchange is similar to activities already being carried out in the University. However, the aim of InnovationXchange is to expand the network and to complement activities already being carried out at the University. No, you do not need to have filed a patent before we can find you a partner. Our Intermediaries have worked with clients right from the idea stage all the way to the commercialisation stage. We understand the need to protect ideas, especially those at the very early stage. At InnovationXchange, we employ a very strict confidentiality framework, and our unique step-wise process requires us to obtain consent from our clients before we speak with external parties. This is to ensure that the client’s idea is kept protected.
